Importing a recipe from the Web

Using the Mealime mobile app (for your phone or tablet), you can easily import most recipes on the web. 

Go to "Settings" > "Your Recipes" and then tap the "New" button in the top-right

Then, choose "Import from the Web".

And, finally type or paste the URL of a recipe into the text field and tap "Import". For help on copying and pasting the URL of a recipe on the web, keep reading.

Copying and pasting a URL on your mobile device

The steps here depend on your device and browser. Find the right section below to follow.

iOS & Safari

Navigate to the recipe page in Safari. Then, tap the "share" icon at the bottom of the screen.

This will open up the sharing sheet. Simply tap "Copy" to copy the URL of the website.

Finally, go back to the Mealime app and tap "Paste" to paste the URL to complete the import. See below for more details.

iOS & Chrome

Navigate to the recipe page in Chrome. Then, tap the "share" icon at the top right (you may need to scroll up slightly to see this).

This will open up the sharing sheet. Simply tap "Copy" to copy the URL of the website.

Finally, go back to the Mealime app and tap "Paste" to paste the URL to complete the import. See below for more details.

Android & Chrome

Navigate to the recipe page in Chrome. Then, tap the "more" icon at the top right (you may need to scroll up slightly to see this).

This will open the menu bar. Now tap "Share".

This will open up the sharing sheet. Tap "Copy to clipboard" to copy the URL of the website.

Finally, go back to the Mealime app and tap "Paste" to paste the URL to complete the import. See below for more details.

Pasting a URL and completing your import

If you've copied the URL of a recipe website, pasting it and completing the import is easy. Open up the Mealime app again, and you'll see a handy "Paste" link at the top right. You should see the text field get automatically filled with the URL you copied. Finally, tap "Import" to complete the import. Great job!
